10:25 AM

  • Doors open at OHB

10:30 AM - 11:00 AM

  • 10:30-11:00 AM: Pool will be available for practice swims by first time Splash Meet contestants. This is not a required event for meet participants. The time is being provided mostly for Kroc Center swimmers who have never swum at OHB. However, all first-timers are welcome to come swim a couple practice races to check the place out.

11:00 AM - 5:00 PM

  • Pool is open for the Turkey Mile swims.

  • Participants should look for their name signs on the wall. Their counting sheets and awards will be located under the signs. Clipboards, pencils, and watches will be located on the diving board.

  • The Turkey Mile is a first-come, first-served event. As soon as a lane opens up, you may begin. Be prepared to share lanes - two swimmers per lane. Counting and timing instructions are available on the diving board. You may use one of my watches or time on your phone or the pace clock. counting sheets.

  • After your swimmer completes the mile, please return clipboard, pencil, and watch to the diving board, give your completed counting sheet to me, and collect trophies and treats. It is our tradition to take a photo of each swimmer with their trophy. Please stick around until I take your celebratory photo!

  • It is very hot in the pool room. The mile takes some time to complete. Please dress for the heat and bring water to drink. I recommend you bring chairs to be more comfortable while you watch/count/time.

4:50 PM

  • Blazers rehearsal: Please be dressed ready to run through the routine right at 4:50 PM. We will take a team photo first, and then have some practice time. Have swimmers sit and keep their belongings under their name signs on the wall.

5:05 PM

  • Splash Meet swimmer arrival time. Walking in at 5:05 will give you enough time to get swimmers settled in their spots under their name signs by 5:15. Have swimmers dressed ready to swim with cap and goggles on.

  • Please do not arrive earlier than 5:05 PM. The pool and seating areas will be occupied by swimmers finishing up their mile and by the Blazers getting ready to their demonstration.

  • The pool deck is very crowded for meets. The swimmers get one side of the pool, and all the spectators must squeeze in on the other long side of the pool. The two ends of the pool are reserved for meet operations. We recommend that at least some of you bring along chairs to assure that you have a seat.

  • Cheering expected. Make it loud. Please cheer for every heat. It’s important to be quiet during each start. After that, cheer away! Please remain seated and quiet during the Blazers performance. When they have finished, please applaud their awesome performance.

  • Heat Sheets are free, and are available at pool entrance. Help yourself.
