Back from Alaska, ready to swim
I had quite an adventure. My boss from last summer, Jeff King, had a emergency surgery last Tuesday - while I was on the plane to Anchorage - and chose his handler, Sean Underwood, to run his dogs to Nome. Sean had only four days to prepare. I was so glad I was there to see Jeff, and that I was able to participate a little in the preparation craziness.
The Iditarod has two start, a ceremonial start in Anchorage and the actual race start in Willow the next day.
I’m glad to be home. Highlight video below. Sean is currently resting at mile 425 - only 550 to go. Mush Sean!
