College of St. Mary - parking and access changes effectively immediately
Please read the notice below if you swim at College of St. Mary. I will link this article and any updates to the parking/access situation to the announcement bar at the top of the page. Please check back each week to confirm access before you drive to College of St. Mary.
Changes to parking and access at College of St. Mary’s due to construction in the area. Please read the communication below. This is from Terri Hermes, CSM Aquatics Director/Head Coach. I received it this afternoon.
“Beginning Sunday, July 11th the upper-level parking will be closed for the remainder of July to complete concrete replacement. This closure includes the Lied Fitness Center parking lot, as well as parking West of Lozier Hall, entrance to the campus and available parking will be accessible by entering via Mercy Road only. Please do not enter College of Saint Mary off the 72nd entrance onto Cedar Road.
Due to the parking lot construction and the extended walk necessary to access the pool we are suspending the water aerobics classes for the remainder of July. All fees currently paid for July will be credited to August.
Lap swimmers and rentals will have access to the pool. The blue section on the map below is the only parking area available during this time. Swimmers will have to walk to the temporary pool entrance door.
The drop-off area for youth swimmers will occur at the north end of the blue parking lot. Parents can escort their swimmer(s) to the entrance. Please have the swimmer walk on the left-hand side of the road leading to the pool backdoor entrance. Due to construction traffic and access DO NOT attempt to drive up to the back door of the pool. Parents who choose to wait on-campus can park in the blue area during swimming practice.
The only entrance to the pool will be the exterior door on east end of the pool (the door by the deep end). Proper signage will be on the door to access the pool.
At any given time, the pool may get completely shut down during the next three weeks due to the ongoing construction. Proper communication will be provided as soon as possible if the pool is shut down during this time.”
