Mermaids

Would you like to be a finswimmer? If you like going very fast, this might be your sport. Finswimming is much faster than swimming without fins. Would you like to swim with fins and a mask and snorkel, or even one of those little air tanks? Or do you prefer to swim with just a cap and goggles?

Mermaid competitions! Who knew? This is a video from the 2019 World Mermaid Championships. The North American Mermaid Championships is scheduled for this June in Michigan.

Watching these mermaids reminded me of Hans Christian Andersen, which reminded me of this scene from a movie inspired by his life.
