COVID-19 Response Update - 3/26 Update

fufcovid.JPG

Community response to the threat of the COVID-19 virus is continually evolving. The following is the Face-Up First Swimming response plan as of today, Thursday, March 26 at 10:00 PM. The next update to the response plan will be posted on April 30. Be safe.

THE FACE-UP FIRST SPRING SESSION IN OMAHA POOLS HAS BEEN CANCELED

PLEASE CONTINUE READING

In compliance with previously issued health orders and the Health Department’s COVID-19 health order clarification issued this week. I believe we cannot meet either the spirit or the letter of the law by conducting lessons this time. Coach Shelby and I will not proceed with lessons for spring, even with a modified schedule or format. The experts say that all of us staying at home as much as possible is the quickest route back to the pool. The spring session is canceled. I’m so sorry. #stayhome

Here’s the plan moving forward:

  1. If it turns out that we may swim in May, we will conduct a separate express session open only to currently spring registered families. Check back on Thursday, April 30 for an update.

  2. Registration for the summer and fall sessions will begin this Sunday for spring families, and continue with our typical staggered schedule. See the registration dates below. All tuition paid for spring 2020 will be moved forward to these sessions. When registering, please do not make any additional payments. We are not collecting tuition at this time. Coach Shelby and I will settle up with everyone - spring families and new families - on the first week of each session. The session dates and times have changed from our original postings. Take a look.

  3. If you haven’t already, this is a good time to take my Water Safety Education for Parents and Caregivers course. It’s free! FUF parents: If you would like a certificate, do not use the payment form on the web page, send me an email instead, or use the contact form from the course.

  4. I will continue the daily swimming-related posts for kids on the News page. Click here to see all the posts. The latest two or three posts will appear on the home page so you don’t have to look far to find them each day. The posts are published in pairs, with discussion questions appearing in the post following the post with the subject content.

  5. If you have access to a pool at this time or when the weather starts to warm up, I teach remote lessons. Click to learn more: Remote Lessons. The first two lessons are free.

Coach Shelby and I would like to thank all of you for sticking with us. We will swim again! In the meantime, stay active, healthy, and safe. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns, or just to say, hi. We miss you.
